What the Judges are looking at......
Ever wondered what Judges consider when they are comparing vehciles, or looking at your car ?
A lot of people have asked exactly what the Judges at the All Chrysler Day are looking at when they compare and award points to cars. here is a basic run-down of what they consider in their judging. It's amazing how many times a car might be presented for judging - with many others vying for the same award - yet the owner may not have even cleaned the vehicle for presentation. Simple things like that will go against you. The list below is a basic list adopted for original type vehicles, but is modified for vehicles which are not standard to accomodate their uniqueness.
EXTERIOR
Body - Is the vehicle clean and tidy overall
Paint - is the finish uniform
Doors - all fit properly, uniform and even
Plating/plated parts - condition, uniform finish
Windows/side curtains - Clean with no scratches, proper fit
Wheels - clean, tidy, correct for era (if applicable)
INTERIOR
Is the interior clean and tidy overall
Dash / Instruments - fittings are clean, finish is even
Floor covering - clean, correct type, finish and fit
Upholstery - clean and tidy, finish and fit, correct material (if applicable)
Roof - fit, clean
ENGINE BAY
Clean and tidy, uniform finsih
Correct finish for era on components and paint colours
Radiator - finish, damaged
Hoses / Clamps - condition and correct, are they all the same
Fan belt - condition
Electrical
Wiring - condition, tidy
battery - Clean, good fit
Components - condition, finsih
Fuel Lines / Carby - condition, fit
